Daimler rebrands itself as Mercedes-Benz AG

Mercedes-Benz AG includes sub-brands like Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach and Mercedes-EQ.

Daimler has rebranded itself as Mercedes-Benz AG after its commercial vehicle division split away as a standalone entity last year.

Mercedes-Benz AG and its sub-brands - Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach and Mercedes-EQ, will be focusing on future mobility and electrification. The company currently offers six all-electric models, including the EQC, EQA, EQB, EQS and the EQV MPV. The EQE sedan is expected to join the line-up soon.

Daimler Truck was spun-off into a separate entity - a move that was said to be the biggest shake-up since the sale of Chrysler.

According to Bernd Pischetsrieder - Daimler’s supervisory board chairman, by spinning off the CV business, the company aims to fully exploit its potential and increase profitability.
