Details of updated fuel unit for problematic Skoda Kushaqs

The Kushaq fuel pump was unable to cope with the varying quality of fuel in India.

Last week, we had reported that the reason behind the Kushaq breakdowns was a fuel pump, which was unable to cope with the varying quality of fuel in India.

Zac Hollis, Director - Sales and Marketing, Skoda India, has confirmed that fuel pumps in the affected Kushaqs will be replaced with more robust units.

Here are details of the replacement part:

  • Part no. - 2Q0-919-051-L
  • Description - Fuel unit
  • Country of Origin - Germany
  • Price - Rs. 16,622

The issue first came to light when Kushaq 1.0L owners started reporting a complete loss of power. The fact that the Electronic Power Control (EPC) warning was displayed in these cars suggested that it was an issue with the vehicle's accelerator pedal, fuel injection throttle body, traction control or cruise control.

The Kushaq is offered with two engine options. But, it was the 1.0-litre variants that were affected by this issue. This 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine produces 113 BHP and 178 Nm.
