Electric Citroen eC3 spied; take a peek under the hood of the EV

The Citroen eC3 is likely to be unveiled in January 2023 and could rival the upcoming Tata Punch EV.

The pure-electric version of the Citroen C3 has been spied once again. This time, we get a peek under the hood of the upcoming EV.

The Citroen eC3 is not based on a standalone EV architecture. Instead, the car shares its underpinnings with the standard C3. While the exterior looks identical to the petrol version, things are quite different under the bonnet.

The new images reveal what appears to be the eC3’s controller and inverter, along with other ancillaries. The electric motor itself would be buried deep inside the engine bay.

Citroen hasn’t revealed the technical details of its first all-electric car for India. However, reports suggest that the eC3 could be powered by a 30.2 kWh battery and an electric motor producing 84 BHP and 143 Nm.

The Citroen eC3 is likely to be unveiled in January 2023, with its market launch expected sometime around March next year. It could rival the upcoming Tata Punch EV.
