Enthusiasts share their Toyota Innova Hycross delivery experiences

People who have owned the Innova (including the Crysta) in the past are upgrading to the Innova Hycross.

I managed to take the delivery last weekend and here's my summary.

I am coming from an Innova Crysta Diesel to Top End ZX HyCross Hybrid.

  • Build quality seems to be more of Maruti's than Toyota
  • Not a driver's vehicle. You would hate driving it if you are used to Diesel or Turbo petrol vehicles.
  • This should be a purely chauffeur-driven car.
  • It's at 857 KM today and the avg mileage is ~15kmpl (6.7L/100Km) mostly highway miles here.
  • Going for the first service this weekend and hoping it improves mileage.

Spoiler Alert - You don't even get basic mats with the vehicle. Everything is added.

Rest all you probably have seen.

I wish I could be more elaborate.

Took the delivery of an Innova Hybrid VX 7 STR from Ravindu Toyota.

Color is Black Ageha, and it’s truly awesome. Got most of the accessories from them fitted with a bill of 90K. With VX, don’t ask for window blinds as they're built in.

Car glides like a train from the start and you cannot make out when it’s in EV or petrol mode unless you press the acceleration too hard. No vibration or body roll.

The best 7-8 seater on sale in India right now. There is simply no competition. I booked it in Oct’22 and got it today. The waiting time for new bookings in Bengaluru is 18 months as per Ravindu Toyota dealer, most bookings are for Ageha black or Crystal white.

Btw, for those of us who are cursing Toyota for the high prices, the actual factory cost is 16 Lakhs, while the rest of the 14 Lakhs goes to Govt (GST + Roadtax +insurance).

I’ll document a detailed review in the coming weeks.

The most asked question is, "Kitna deti hai?"

In the limited run from the showroom to my home, the average is 19KMPL!

Took the delivery of probably the first ZX (O) super white in the entire of Delhi/NCR today. Have owned both Fortuner (2010) & Innova (2011) for more than a decade and had to let go of both of them in 2021 because of the 10-year diesel ban rule. Not sharing any detailed feedback on the new acquisition but overall I (read family, friends, and neighbours) am happy with the purchase.
