UIM F1H2O Grand Prix of Amaravati will be held in Vijayawada from November 16-18, 2018. The fifth round of the powerboat racing championship will take place on the Krishna River.

Erik Edin and Jonas Andersson will be representing Team Amaravati, which is backed by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. The drivers finished third and fourth respectively in the Agile Grand Prix held in Xiangyang, China.

The UIM F1H2O World Championship is an international series of single-seater inshore circuit powerboat racing. The series features tunnel-hull catamarans made out of carbon fibre and kevlar. The boats measure 6 meters in length and weigh 390 kg. They are powered by a 2.5-litre, 2-stroke Mercury engine that produces close to 395 BHP @ 10,500 rpm. The boats are capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds and have a top speed in excess of 220 km/h.

The grand prix weekend is divided into three days. The first day is reserved for documentation, registration and scrutineering. Free practice and qualifying are held on Day 2. Another practice session is held on race day followed by a parade lap and race, which does not exceed 60 minutes.
