Ford shelves EcoSport facelift India launch plans

Ford only plans to sell completely built units (CBUs) going forward.

Today, Ford announced its plan to stop manufacturing cars in India. As a result, the upcoming EcoSport facelift has now been cancelled.

The updated EcoSport was spotted testing a few times and was expected to be launched sometime next month. As part of the update, the EcoSport was supposed to get a redesigned front fascia featuring a more aggressive look. It was likely to be offered with the same 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options.

Besides the EcoSport, the Endeavour 2.0L twin-turbo diesel was also rumoured to be in the pipeline. It too may have been shelved as Ford only plans to sell completely built units (CBUs) going forward.
