Global NCAP: Ford Aspire scores 3 stars, Chevy Enjoy gets 0

As part of its 'Safer Cars for India' campaign, Global NCAP has crash tested two India-spec models - the Ford Aspire compact sedan and the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV. While the Aspire managed to earn 3 stars in the crash test, the Enjoy failed the tests miserably and scored a 0 star rating. Only the base variants of both models were tested, as per the regular NCAP guidelines.

Since the Ford Aspire is sold with dual airbags as standard, it managed to insulate the occupants from fatal injuries and received a 3 star rating in adult occupant protection and 2 stars in child protection. However, the crash tests revealed that the car has an unstable bodyshell which can't withstand further loads.

On the other hand, the Chevrolet Enjoy lacks airbags in its base trim, which resulted in fatal injuries to the driver and passenger. The MPV's bodyshell was also rated as unstable, further dropping its adult occupant safety rating to 0 star, while it managed to earn 2 stars in child occupant protection.
