Hamilton wins US Formula One Grand Prix, 2015 WDC

British driver Lewis Hamilton has won the 2015 US Formula One Grand Prix ahead of Mercedes team mate Nico Rosberg and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel. Torro Rosso's Max Verstappen and Force India's Sergio Perez completed the top five.

Hamilton had qualified in second place with Rosberg taking pole position. Hamilton got a good start and bumped wheels with Rosberg at Turn 1, causing the German to run wide. The lead kept changing hands over the course of the race.

At the end of lap 42, Hamilton was leading, followed by Rosberg. Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat had a crash following which, and the safety car was deployed. Hamilton pitted from the lead and came out behind Rosberg. Late in the race, an error by the German saw him lose control of his car and allowed Hamilton to take the lead and the eventually, the win.

The win in the US Grand Prix means that Hamilton has clinched the 2015 World Drivers' Championship. This is his third world title, which takes him level with former drivers Jack Brabham, Jacky Stewart, Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet and Ayrton Senna.
