According to reports, the car rental company Hertz is offering customers who have rented their electric vehicles, the option of buying the rented EVs instead of returning them.
The reports state that Hertz is offering low-cost offers for its EVs such as a 2023 Tesla Model 3, a Polestar 2 and a 2023 Chevy Bolt. A Hertz customer shared on Reddit that they were offered a 2023 Tesla Model 3 with 30,000 miles for a price of $17,913. Another renter mentioned that a 2023 Chevy Bolt was offered for $18,442 while the Polestar 2 had a purchase price of $28,500. Hertz will offer the used cars with a limited 12-month, 12,000-mile powertrain warranty and a buy-back option within 7 days.
Jamie Line, Communications Director, Hertz, stated, "By connecting our rental customers who opt into our emails to our sales channels, we’re not only building awareness of the fact that we sell cars but also offering a unique opportunity to someone who may be in the market for the same car they have on rent."
