Honda to start assembling CBR 650F at Manesar in two months

Japanese two-wheeler major Honda, has revealed that will start assembly of the CBR 650F motorcycle at its plant in Manesar, Haryana in the next two months. The bike will have 95% imported content and in the initial stages, two bikes will be assembled per day. Localisation is likely to be increased in the future.

The Honda CBR 650F was displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo. It is a fully-faired motorcycle powered by a 649 cc, inline 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that develops 86 bhp @ 11000 rpm and 63 Nm of torque @ 8000 rpm. The bike comes with a 6-speed transmission, telescopic fork front suspension, monoshock rear suspension and disc brakes all round.

The CBR 650F will be positioned in the premium motorcycle segment. It will be will be sold and serviced through a new Shop-In-Shop distribution format in 20 cities in India.

Honda is also planning to launch more high-displacement bikes (over 1,000cc) in the county in a phased manner in the future.
