Honda teases new model; City facelift or new SUV?

Honda is also planning to introduce a Creta-rivalling SUV in the Indian market.

Honda has shared a teaser on social media that suggests that the carmaker is gearing up to reveal a new car.

The teaser image doesn’t reveal much apart from the date of unveiling, which is January 9, 2023. While the caption reads, “stay tuned for something new”.

We know that Honda is working on the City facelift. The car is expected to get cosmetic changes, including a revised front grille and bumpers, as well as a few tweaks to the headlamps and LED tail lights.

The updated City could come equipped with a 360-degree camera, wireless charging and a digital instrument cluster. Notably, the updated City might also be offered with Level 1 ADAS as part of its safety package.

While the City facelift seems like the more plausible option, Honda is also planning to introduce a Creta-rivalling SUV in the Indian market. It is an important product for the brand that currently doesn’t have a single SUV in its portfolio. Therefore, we expect it to be launched amidst great fanfare.
