Hospet to Bengaluru in a KSRTC Volvo: Quick thoughts on the journey

There was just one rest stop at Kamat Restaurant Sira. Journey time was 6 hours.

I experimented with a KSRTC Volvo on the Hospet to Bengaluru sector a few days back. The bus was a 2018 registered Volvo B11R and operated on the Koppal - Hospet - Kudlugi - Bengaluru sector bypassing Chitradurga; didn't look one bit a 11,60,000km done example.

There was just one rest stop at Kamat Restaurant Sira. Journey time was 6 hours. Arrival was 10 mins ahead of schedule, aided by the quick ride on the flyover between Nagasandra and Goreguntapalaya. The bad bit was half the road width excavated between Navrang Cinema and Lulu Mall. The bus could barely move and there were RCC rods jutting out of the excavated portion.

What I felt good about - saying no to the company car to drop me back home, saving fuel and toll equivalent to 630kms, and more important of all, saving 11 hours of a company chauffeur with him otherwise having to drive all the way back to Hospet into the night.
