India-bound 4th-gen Suzuki Swift goes on sale in Japan

The Japanese-spec Swift also comes with an ADAS suite.

Suzuki has launched the all-new Swift hatchback in its domestic market of Japan. Suzuki has announced that it will begin sales of the CVT models from December 13, 2023, while the MT trims will be offered from January 14, 2024.

In terms of design, the new Swift is an evolution of the current model and comes with a new sleek grille, revised LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, C-shaped LED taillights, clamp-shell bonnet and 16-inch alloy wheels. The 2024 Swift is offered with a choice of 13 different exterior colours which include 9 mono-tone & 4 dual-tone options. The single-tone options include Frontier Blue, Cool Yellow, Flame Orange, Caravan Ivory, Pure White, Premium Silver, Star Silver and Super Black. The dual-tone colours on the Swift are: Frontier Blue/Black Roof, Burning Red/Black Roof, Cool Yellow/Black Roof & Pure White/Black Roof.

Inside, the new Suzuki Swift features a floating 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, a keyless start-stop button, a 360-degree camera and a rearview camera. The Japanese-spec Swift also comes with an ADAS suite.

The new-gen Swift in Japan is offered in three trims: XG, Hybrid MX & Hybrid MZ. The powertrain options include a 1.2-litre petrol 3-cylinder and a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol-hybrid unit, producing 80 BHP and 108 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic. The Japan-spec Swift also gets a 4WD option.
