Indian vehicle exports up 62% in April-November 2021

Maruti Suzuki was the top exporter with 1,45,906 units.

The Covid-19 pandemic, global chip shortage and rising commodity prices have wreaked havoc in the auto sector. While domestic sales have dwindled, the export business has flourished.

According to a media report, vehicle exports from India increased to 36,91,583 units in April-Nov 2021 from 22,77,990 units during the same period last year.

Passenger vehicle exports grew by 58% to 3,68,605 units, while 2-wheeler exports stood at 29,79,952 units - a YoY growth of 64%. 3-wheeler exports rose by 47% to 3,43,139 units in the same period. Quadricycle exports stood at 3,887 units.

Maruti Suzuki was the top exporter with 1,45,906 units, followed by Hyundai (83,438 units) and Kia (30,738 units).
