Jaguar all-electric 4-door GT prototype begins testing

Jaguar has confirmed that prices for the EV will start from GBP 100,000.

Jaguar has begun its transformation into an all-electric car brand. Ahead of its global unveil, a prototype of the British marquee's first all-electric luxury model has been revealed.

The carmaker stated that the EV has already completed "tens of thousands of miles in virtual & physical testing". Post the testing on UK's public roads, the all-electric GT is also expected to be tested on public roads and test sites internationally as well.

Coming to the prototype itself, the Jaguar 4-door GT can be seen covered in camouflage, hiding most of its styling details. What is visible is the car's proportions, the all-electric GT features an elongated bonnet, rear-set cabin, a coupe-like sloping roofline at the back and a small flat boot lid. The front has a very upright nose which as per reports will get a new grille motif. In addition, the car can also be seen riding on large-sized tyres.

The new Jaguar 4-door electric GT will be based on the brand's JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture) and will be produced at the Solihull plant in the UK. Jaguar has yet to confirm any technical details about the vehicle, although the carmaker has confirmed that prices for the EV will start from GBP 100,000.
