Jaguar confirmed that the XE would not be launched in India before 2016. Earlier this year, the Tata owned company had imported one unit of the car as a CKD, with the car being brought in for R&D purposes. The XE has now been spotted sans camouflage near the ARAI testing facility in Pune, Maharashtra.

The XE is the first Jaguar to be produced at JLR’s plant in Solihull, UK and while talks of local assembly in India are on, JLR may launch the XE as a direct import at least initially, with the car expected to make its Indian debut at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.
