Jeep Avenger gets Citroen C3’s 1.2L turbo-petrol engine

The Avenger is based on the CMP platform, which is also shared with the Citroen C3.

Jeep showcased its all-new small SUV, the Avenger, earlier this month. While we still don’t know whether this model will make its way into India, the SUV does use the same 1.2-litre petrol engine offered in the Citroen C3.

The 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine makes 108 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 190 Nm @ 1,750 rpm. In India, the engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and the same will be offered on the Avenger as well.

The Avenger is based on the CMP platform. It has a front-wheel drive layout, however, it does get Jeep’s Selec-Terrain modes. These include Normal, Eco, Sport, Mud and Snow modes.

The Avenger also comes with an all-electric powertrain. The EV uses two or four electric motors with an output of 154 BHP and 260 Nm. It is powered by a 54 kWh battery offering a range of up to 550 km depending on the driving conditions.
