Finally! Kawasaki opens a new dealership in Mumbai

After shutting down its infamous Vashi showroom (Kawasaki Palm Beach or SNK Palm Beach - link to their history), Kawasaki has finally opened a new dealership in Mumbai. The new showroom is situated in between the Triumph and Benelli outlets in Hubtown Viva on the Western Express Highway in Andheri East. It replaces the Indian motorcycle showroom.

Having a dedicated dealership within Mumbai is important for the Japanese manufacturer as Mumbai is one of the most important markets for Kawasaki bikes in India. India Kawasaki Motors (IKM) had terminated the SNK Palm Beach dealership in September last year, and was devoid of any outlet in the city since then.

Interestingly, Kawasaki is also reportedly planning to break its current sales and service tie-up with Bajaj from April 2017. Currently, Kawasaki bikes up to 650 cc are sold through KTM outlets in the country, while larger CBUs are sold through exclusive Kawasaki dealerships. If these reports come out to be true, all Kawasaki bikes will be sold only through IKM showrooms.
