Kawasaki Vulcan S launched at Rs.5.44 lakh

Kawasaki has launched the Vulcan S in India. The brand's first offering in the mid-size cruiser segment is priced at Rs. 5.44 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike will be assembled at Kawasaki's Chakan plant and will be available in one colour option - Flat Ebony. 

The Vulcan S uses a high-tensile perimeter steel frame. The bike’s overall length is 2,310 mm and it measures 855 mm and 1,090 mm in width and height respectively. It has a wheelbase of 1,575 mm, ground clearance of 130 mm and weighs 235 kg (kerb weight). It comes with a 14-litre fuel tank.

The Vulcan S features an inverted triangle headlamp with a circular instrument cluster and conventional 41-mm telescopic front forks. The rear features a tight-fit fender, an offset laydown single-shock and an under-body exhaust finished in matte black. It comes with a low-slung seat (705 mm), raised handlebars and adjustable foot pegs.

The Vulcan S is powered by a 649cc, parallel-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 60 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 63 Nm of peak torque @ 6,600 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Brakes come in the form of a single 300 mm disc at the front and a 250 mm disc brake at the rear with dual-piston and single-piston calipers respectively. The Vulcan S rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch alloy wheels in the rear shod with 120/70 R18 and 160/60 R17 tyres respectively.

The Kawasaki Vulcan S will be unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo.
