Lavato: Premium & hygienic toilets on Indian highways

Lavato is a public lavatory franchise that claims to offer high quality, clean and hygienic toilets on Indian highways. The first Lavato retail outlet has been setup on NH44 just outside Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu.

Lavato outlets reportedly have ample parking space and are disabled friendly. The lavatories are fitted with individual washbasins, soap dispensers, functional bidet showers, charging points for mobile phones and clothes hangar. There is a common hand drier and hand sanitizer dispenser. The air-conditioned facility also has chairs for those waiting.

To use the services, one has to purchase a ticket. The ticket price is Rs. 10 for urinal and Rs. 20 for the lavatory. The facility can be accessed via a turnstile that unlocks after you scan a barcode on the ticket. An unlock button is placed near the exit.

In addition to toilets, there are other facilities such as a travel convenience store, relaxation centre and a quick nap room. According to the company, Lavato outlets will be open 24X7 and 365 days.
