Lexus unveils LY 650 luxury yacht

Lexus has unveiled a luxury yacht called the LY 650. The yacht joins the LS sedan, LX SUV and LC coupe as the fourth flagship model of the Japanese company.

The boat is the first offering from Lexus in the non-automotive field. It is based on the company's L-finesse design language for the maritime projects. The yacht measures 19.96 m long, 5.72 m wide and has a 3,785-litre fuel tank. It has 3 staterooms, 3 washrooms and up to 6 beds.

The Lexus LY 650 gets a pronounced bow, curved deck accents and an accentuated rear section. Viewed from the side, the yacht's roofline rises and then gradually slopes downwards towards the rear.

The luxury yacht is powered by a Volvo Penta IPS 1200 engine. An IPS 1350 unit is available as an option. The 1200 is a 12.8-litre, inline 6-cylinder turbo and supercharged engine that make 789 BHP @ 2,300 rpm. The 1350 is of the same size as the 1200, but makes 986 BHP @ 2,400 rpm.

The boat will be built, sold and serviced by the Marquis-Larson Boat Group, based in Pulaski, Wisconsin.
