Limited edition Ducati 1098 S Tricolore left to rust

A limited edition Ducati 1098 S Tricolore has been gathering dust at Kochi customs. The Tricolore is finished in the Italian national flag colours of red, white and green. The mirrors of the bike appears to have been damaged.

The 1098 S is based on a tubular steel trellis frame and comes with a fully adjustable upside-down fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike is powered by a 1,099cc, twin-cylinder engine producing 160 BHP @ 9,750 rpm and 123 Nm @ 8,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission. At the time of its launch, the 1098 S had the highest torque-to-weight ratio of any production sports bike ever made.

The 1098 was built between 2007 and 2009 and came in three versions - 1098, 1098 S and 1098 R. It is said that only 1,013 units of the 1098 S Tricolore were made.
