LML Freedom 110cc motorcycle re-launched in Delhi

Lohia Machinery Limited, popularly known as LML, manufactures two wheelers in India, mainly for export markets. Well, that's after LML went under sometime in the early noughties, prompting the two wheeler maker to revive itself through exports. In the 1990s and the early noughties, LML used to build and sell scooters in collaboration with Italian scooter major Piaggio. LML also tied up with South Korean motorcycle maker Daelim and got into the motorcycle segment with the likes of the Adreno and Energy 110cc offerings.

Eventually, the homegrown 110cc four stroke motorcycle dubbed the Freedom was launched in India. Positioned in the 110cc commuter motorcycle segment, the Freedom 110 was one of the most successful motorcycles in LML's fledgling range that also included the likes of the Beamer 150, the Freedom Prima 125 and the Graptor 150. In the last few years, LML has been regrouping its India strategy and is focusing on markets that prefer geared scooters.

LML sells its geared range of scooters in the National Capital Region including Delhi, Gurgaon and Haryana, in Punjab and in Goa. Now, the Freedom 110 has been re-launched in Delhi. Pricing and technical specifications of the motorcycle remain unavailable at this point in time. From the looks of it, the Freedom gets a facelift in the form of alloy wheels, black powder coated front forks, revised paint job, revised seat, electric starter with a new paint finish and a new shroud for the headlamp fairing.

In the next few months, LML plans to make a foray into the automatic scooter market with the Star 4T, a scooter that will be launched in Delhi and Punjab. Apart from Delhi, the NCR region and Punjab, LML plans to launch the Freedom motorcycle and the Star 4T automatic scooter in Gujarat and Maharashtra. LML also has plans to re-enter the commuter motorcycle segment with more motorcycles in the 125cc and 150cc segments. Additionally, LML will focus on its main strength, the scooter segment, by launching a range of automatic scooters in the 125cc and 150cc segments. These scooters are expected to be positioned in the unisex, lifestyle segment.
