Mahindra U321 MPV to be called Marazzo

The upcoming Mahindra MPV (codenamed: U321) has been named Marazzo. The word Marazzo means shark in Basque - a sub-language of Spanish.

The Mahindra Design Studio in collaboration with Pininfarina has designed the Mahindra Marazzo MPV. It features shark-inspired design details like the front grille and tail lamps. It gets fog lamps with integrated LED DRLs in the front and a shark fin antenna. It comes with beige interiors with a twin-pod instrument cluster with purple surrounds and a central MID. The warning lights for 4WD, cruise control and auto start/stop suggest that it might get these features.

The Marazzo is reportedly based on a new monocoque chassis developed by the Mahindra North American Technical Centre (MNATC) and Mahindra Research Valley (MRV), Chennai. According to the company, the Marazzo has been benchmarked against global standards of quality, safety and emission regulations. It will be built at Mahindra's manufacturing unit at Nashik.

The Marazzo MPV will be launched in the second quarter of FY2018-19.
