Mahindra unveils 5 electric SUVs based on INGLO EV platform

The XUV.e8 will be the first all-electric SUV based on the INGLO platform. It will debut in December 2024.

Mahindra has unveiled its all-new INGLO EV platform that will underpin five new electric SUVs.

The new range of electric SUVs will be part of two separate brands - 'XUV' with the Twin Peak logo in Copper and the new electric-only brand 'BE'. The new range includes the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09. The first four of these will be launched between 2024 and 2026.

According to Mahindra, the INGLO platform will offer high degree of safety, range and efficiency. It will also come with a futuristic, augmented reality-enabled head-up display, edge-to-edge screen, 5G network capability and over-the-air updates.

The new range of electric SUVs will be offered in single-motor and dual-motor configurations, with an overall output rated at 228-282 BHP and 335-389 BHP, respectively. It is estimated that the SUVs would be capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 5-6 seconds.

Mahindra will offer multiple battery options on its future EVs, ranging from 60-80 kWh. The company claims the batteries will be able to charge up to 80% in 30 minutes using a 175 kW fast charger.

The EVs will come with semi-active suspension and brake-by-wire technology. Other features include a flat floor design with frunk and trunk storage, drive modes and ADAS with L2+ autonomous capability.
