Mahindra has launched the all-new XEV 9e electric SUV at an introductory price of Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries are expected to commence by the end of February or March next year.
The XEV 9e is an electric SUV coupe measuring 4,790 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,690 mm in height, and its wheelbase is 2,775 mm. The EV has a ground clearance of 207 mm and has a 665-litre boot as well as a 150-litre frunk.
The XEV 9e has a trapezoidal front fascia with L-shaped LED DRLs connected by an LED light bar. It has a strong shoulder line with flared wheel arches, a coupe-like roof line, and an upright rear fascia with wraparound LED taillights. The SUV rides on 19-inch aero-optimized wheels as standard, while 20-inch rims will be available as an option.
Inside, the XEV 9e features a triple-screen layout with 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster, a central touchscreen, and an additional display on the passenger side. The car has a 2-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and comes with features like a panoramic sunroof, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and automatic climate control.
The Mahindra XEV 9e is based on the INGLO platform. It will be offered with two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The former comes with an electric motor that produces 228 BHP and 380 Nm, while the larger battery is paired with a single electric motor producing 282 BHP and 380 Nm.
Mahindra claims the electric SUV can complete the sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The 79 kWh battery pack has a claimed MIDC range of 656 km. It can be charged from 20-80% in 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC fast charger.
Safety features include a 360-degree camera, 7 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, and a parking assistant system. The electric SUV has disc brakes all around and a brake-by-wire system.
