Mahindra XUV500 facelift launched at Rs. 11.21 lakh

Mahindra has launched the XUV500 facelift in India at prices starting from Rs. 11.21 lakh (Ex-showroom, New Delhi). The vehicle gets some cosmetic and mechanical updates. With this facelift, Mahindra has also introduced a new top-of-the-line variant of the XUV500.

At the front there is restyled hood, a pair of restyled headlamp clusters with projector units, chrome inserts and S-shaped LED guide lights, a new grille with honeycomb mesh design pattern and Scorpio-like floating black slats with chrome inserts. The bumper is redesigned and houses restyled and relocated fog lamps with chrome surrounds. At the rear, the XUV500 facelift gets a larger number plate housing and chrome garnish. The car also gets a chrome lining for the side windows and a new set of 10-spoke alloy wheels. Two new colours - sunset orange and pearl white have been added as well.

The XUV500 gets black and beige interiors, beige leather seats, blue lounge lighting, illuminated scuff plates and aluminium pedals. The vehicle is equipped with an electric sunroof with anti-pinch technology, door mirrors with logo projection puddle lamps, a 6-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS, Mahindra Blue Sense app, a reverse camera and keyless entry & go (start/stop button).

The XUV500 is powered by the same 2.2-litre, 138 BHP MHawk diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as the outgoing model. Mahindra claims that the car now features improved fuel efficiency. It can now 16 kpl against 15.1 kpl of the outgoing model. The vehicle also gets suspension updates, electronic stability programme (ESP 9) with rollover mitigation and brake energy regeneration.
