Maruti & Delhi Police to launch Traffic Safety Mgmt. System

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has partnered with the Delhi Police to implement a Traffic Safety Management System (TSMS) in the national capital with an aim to bring transparency and strengthen enforcement of traffic laws as well as to promote road safety. A similar system has been operational in Mumbai since 2016.

A memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed between Maruti Suzuki and the Delhi Police in the presence of Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Mr. Anil Baijal, Lt. Governor of Delhi.

The TSMS will be setup along a 14 km stretch of the Ring Road corridor from Dhaula Kuan to Sarai Kale Khan covering 10 road junctions. The system will feature cameras including Red Light Violation Detection System (RLVDS), Speed Violation Detection System (SVDS), Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system and Automatic Challan System.

Maruti Suzuki will set up the TSMS and maintain it for 2 years, while Delhi Police will take charge of its operation.
