Maruti has sold 3 lakh AMT models since 2014

Maruti Suzuki has sold 3 lakh cars equipped with automated manual transmission (AMT), also known as Auto Gear Shift (AGS) since it was first introduced with the Celerio in 2014.

According to the company, sales of AMT variants have tripled since 2014 and thanks to its growing popularity, Maruti expects to sell over 2 lakh units in FY 2018-19 alone.

At present, AGS is offered with the Alto K10, WagonR, Celerio, Swift, Ignis, Dzire and Vitara Brezza. AGS variants account for 43% of Celerio sales. Out of the total sales of the Ignis and the Dzire, AGS variants account for 28% and 17% respectively.
