Maruti Suzuki expands Manesar plant's capacity by 1 lakh units

Maruti aims to nearly double its production capacity to 4 million units per annum.

Maruti Suzuki has set up a new assembly line at its Manesar plant, expanding the factory’s annual production capacity by 1 lakh units.

The new vehicle assembly line has been added to Plant-A, which is one of three manufacturing plants located at the Manesar site. With this, the total capacity of the plant has increased to 9 lakh units per annum.

The new assembly line at Plant-A will enhance the company’s overall capacity to 2.35 million units per annum. Maruti aims to nearly double its production capacity to 4 million units per annum over the next 7-8 years.

Maruti’s Manesar plant became operational in February 2007. Plant-B and Plant-C were set up in 2011 and 2013, respectively. Models like the Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, WagonR, Dzire, S-Presso, Ciaz and Celerio are manufactured at this facility.
