Tata Motors to invest Rs 9,000 crore in Tamil Nadu

The manufacturing facility is expected to create up to 5,000 jobs.

Tata Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu to explore the possibility of setting up a vehicle manufacturing unit in the state.

Tata Motors plans to invest Rs 9,000 crores in the state of Tamil Nadu over 5 years. The new manufacturing facility is expected to create up to 5,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The MoU was signed between PB Balaji, Group CFO, Tata Motors and V Vishnu, MD & CEO of Guidance, Tamil Nadu - in the presence of Chief Minister, M K Stalin.

Guidance is the nodal agency for investment promotion and facilitation in the state.
