Maruti Suzuki production drops by 3% in April 2022

Production of models like the Ertiga, XL6 and Vitara Brezza increased by 17% compared to the previous year.

Maruti Suzuki's production numbers were 3% lower in April 2022 compared to the same month last year.

Maruti Suzuki produced 1,52,954 units in April 2022 compared to 1,57,585 units in April 2021. According to the company, the drop in production was due to the shortage of electronic components.

Production of the mini and compact segment cars like the Alto, S-Presso, Celerio, Baleno, Dzire, Swift, Ignis and WagonR dropped by 11.4% compared to the previous year. Just 99,633 units were produced last month.

Ciaz production dropped from 2,194 units in April 2021 to 1,756 units last month.

On the other hand, the production of the Ertiga, Jimny, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, XL6 and Eeco was higher compared to the previous year. UV production rose by 17% to 51,565 units.
