MG Hector SUV officially unveiled

MG has unveiled the Hector SUV in India ahead of its launch in June 2019.

The MG Hector gets a hexagonal grill with slim LED daytime running lights on either side. It has a dual-tone front bumper which houses the main headlamps and fog lamps. The headlight cluster gets C-shaped chrome surrounds. At the rear, the Hector has wraparound tail lights with a chrome tail gate garnish and dual-tone bumper with silver inserts. The SUV has a roof spoiler and silver roof rails as well as dual-tone alloy wheels.

The Hector comes equipped with a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and has over 50 connected features. It has a 7-inch MID and comes with features such as a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, heated ORVMs, power adjustable front seats, powered tail gate and 8-colour ambient lighting.

The Hector will be offered with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 141 BHP and 250 Nm of torque, 2.0-litre diesel with 168 BHP and 350 Nm of torque and a mild-hybrid variant with a 48-volt lithium-ion battery offering 20 Nm of extra torque. The petrol hybrid version also gets Engine Auto Start Stop, regenerative braking and E-Boost, which is claimed to reduce emissions by 12%. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic.
