Mitsubishi Outlander imported into India for certification

Mitsubishi has imported the Outlander SUV into India for certification purpose. Zauba records show that two units of the GLX 4WD variant have been brought into the country on October 22, 2016. This import points towards Mitsubishi's plans to launch the Outlander in India in the near future.

The Mitsubishi Outlander GLX variant is available in 7-Seater as well as 5-Seater configuration. The model brought into India is in the 7-Seater guise. In the international-spec, this variant gets an active stability control system, 7 airbags, and ABS with EBD.

Powering the Outlander GLX is a 2.4-litre MIVEC engine that churns out 165 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 222 Nm @ 4,100 rpm. This engine is mated to a CVT gearbox, while the power is delivered to all four wheels. The company claims that this powertrain can accelerate the Outlander from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.2 seconds, before hitting its top speed of 198 km/h.
