Mumbai gets unique traffic signals with LEDs on pole

These cool looking lights will make the signals more visible from a distance.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has installed a new traffic signal at Worli Sea Face in Mumbai. As you can see in the images, the entire pole is covered in LEDs that are synced with the traffic signal.

These new traffic signals are said to be part of a pilot project undertaken by the BMC. The new traffic lights certainly look cool. Besides, the LEDs would make the signals more visible from a distance and in adverse weather conditions.

Speaking of traffic infrastructure, LED speed breakers had popped-up in Hyderabad last year. They were installed at traffic signals at the KBR Park junction. The speed breakers had embedded LED lights that were synced with the traffic signals.
