Mumbai water taxi services to start from January 2022

Water taxi services between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai are expected to start from January 2022. The service could be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The government is said to have allotted multiple routes to operators. These include International Cruise Terminal to Elephanta, Domestic Cruise Terminal to Rewas, Karanjade, Dharamtar, Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Airoli, Khanderi Islands and Jawaharlal Nehru Port.

Reports suggest that a journey from the Domestic Cruise Terminal to Navi Mumbai will cost between Rs. 1,200-1,500 per person, while the fare to JNPT could be between Rs 750-800.

The journey from the Domestic Cruise Terminal to Navi Mumbai and to JNPT is said to take about 30 minutes and 15-20 minutes, respectively.
