My Stage 1 tuned Skoda Rapid: 55,000km update

Thinking of upgrading the stock projector with after market units. Would upgrade the stock intercooler to an after market one from Garret

Life with Czech Beauty is going well, without any big drama.

Enjoying the stage 1 tune and done with 5th service. The car has run well below the expected 75K. Nothing was reported, except a little hard clutch reported by ASC and said it is good to go for another 20-30K kms

Some observations which I learned in due course of ownership:

1) The Sachs suspension are holding on well. Still a dream to drive around ORR where 120KMPH is the limit.

2) After stage 1, I realized I should have opted for Washless filters like papercross, as washing and putting back the BMC filter can be a pain.

3) Yesterday, the second battery died after driving for 30kms and stopping to get some water bottles from a roadside shop. This was the second battery, the first one being replaced at 2 years mark. So this survived for around 3 years.

4) Opted for Exide red 60AH battery, as I am left with just a few months for my extended warranty and didnot want to plonk in another 7-8K for a factory sold unit. Got the deal at INR 6900.

5) The Perfinzas/ EBC Yellow stuff pads are holding on nicely.

Planned Mods:

1) Thinking of upgrading the stock projector with after market units. The HID units and stock projector are slowly looking like they are not up to the mark anymore. The high Beams from FE retrofits are solid and saves highway drives.

2) Would upgrade the stock intercooler to an after market one from Garret. Saw a nice post where it is being sold as a direct replacement without any mods required.
