MY2020 Kawasaki Versys 1000 launched at Rs. 10.69 lakh

Kawasaki has launched the new Versys 1000 in India. The liter-class touring bike is priced at Rs. 10.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Those who have already pre-booked the bike can expect to get delivery from March 2019 onwards.

The Versys 1000 is based on a twin-tube chassis and measures 2,270 mm in length, 895 mm in width and 1,400 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,520 mm and the seat height is 840 mm. The kerb weight of the bike is 255 kg and it comes with a 21-litre fuel tank.

The MY2020 Versys 1000 comes with a new front end featuring twin LED headlights, a digital instrument cluster and an adjustable windscreen. The bike has a stepped seat and a single side-mounted exhaust. It comes equipped with updated 43 mm inverted telescopic fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. 

Powering the Versys 1000 is a 1,043cc, in-line 4-cylinder engine that produces 118 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 102 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission via a slipper clutch. The braking setup consists of twin 310 mm petal type discs with 4-piston calipers at the front and a single 250 mm disc at the rear with a single-piston caliper. 

Features like Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), Electronic Cruise Control, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF) and Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System (KIBS) are offered as standard.
