Next-gen Mercedes S-Class launch on June 17

The S-Class will be imported via the CBU route. The first batch will be sold as the 'Launch Edition'.

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that it will launch the next-generation S-Class in India on June 17, 2021.

Initially, Mercedes plans to import the W223 S-Class as a completely built unit (CBU). The first batch of cars will be sold as the 'Launch Edition'.

The Launch Edition will be equipped with an AMG body kit and AMG alloy wheels. The car will have features such as flush-fitting door handles, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.8-inch LED touchscreen infotainment system with MBUX, rear-seat entertainment, rear touch tablet, Burmester 4D surround sound system, front and rear massage function and neck warmers to name a few.

In India, the S-Class will be offered with a 6-cylinder diesel engine producing 326 BHP and 700 Nm as well as a 6-cylinder petrol engine producing 362 BHP and 500 Nm. Both engines are paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The car will also get rear-wheel steering.
