Ola Electric acquires e-scooter maker Etergo

Ola Electric has acquired Amsterdam-based e-scooter maker Etergo. The company plans to introduce the all-electric AppScooter in India and other international markets.

Etergo was founded in 2014. In 2018, the company revealed its first electric scooter called the AppScooter. It uses swappable high energy density batteries with a claimed range of 240 km on a single charge. The company plans to launch it in India in 2021.

Ola Electric also plans to set up extensive charging and swapping networks in India. At present, the company is running pilot projects to deploy electric 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers and charging stations across cities.
