Porsche 911 GT2 RS launched at Rs. 3.88 crore

Porsche has launched the 911 GT2 RS in India priced at Rs. 3.88 crore (ex-showroom).

The 911 GT2 RS was first unveiled in 2017 at the annual E3 gaming convention and was officially launched at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is similar in design to the regular 911 except for some design elements. At the front, it has a dual-tone bonnet with two ducts on either side and a magnesium roof. The front bumper has a pronounced splitter and a rectangular air dam flanked by large vents with a LED lights at the top. Like all 911s, the new GT2 RS has circular headlamps with LEDs and integrated DRLs.

Along the sides, the GT2 RS gets vents on the front fenders and large air-intakes on the sides behind the doors. At the rear, it has a dual-tone bumper with twin exhausts, a fixed spoiler and triangular wraparound tail lights. The interior of the car looks similar to the current generation of 911s with its 3-spoke steering wheel and 5-pod instrument cluster. The GT2 RS gets carbon seats and interior trim as well as alcantara upholstery.

The 911 GT2 RS weighs 1,470 kg (unladen), which can be reduced by another 30 kg by opting for the Weissach Package. It adds a carbon fibre bonnet and roof as well as lightweight magnesium wheels. 

Powering the 911 GT2 RS is a 3.8-litre, twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder engine that produces 690 BHP @ 7,000 rpm and 750 Nm @ 2,500-4,000 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 340 km/h. Braking is handled by ceramic composite discs with aluminium monobloc calipers at both ends. The car currently holds the lap record for the fastest production car around the Nürburgring with a lap time of 6:47.3 minutes.
