Porsche to unveil a more powerful 631 BHP Cayenne Coupe soon

Porsche is working on a more powerful Cayenne Coupe SUV, powered by a twin-turbo V8 producing 631 BHP.

Porsche is said to be working on introducing a more powerful variant of its Cayenne Coupe. This new variant is expected to come with a host of mechanical and cosmetic updates, with its unveil scheduled sometime in June 2021.

According to a media report, the new variant of the Porsche Cayenne Coupe will come powered by an upgraded 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which produces 631 BHP and 850 Nm; a massive increase of 89 BHP and 80 Nm over the current model. Porsche will also offer the new variant with an updated 8-speed automatic transmission and an AWD drive system to handle the additional performance.

The new powerful variant will be offered exclusively on the Cayenne Coupe model. This is attributed to the fact that the Coupe has a slightly lower centre-of-gravity and a lower kerb weight, compared to the standard Cayenne.

Porsche will also offer the upcoming variant of the Cayenne Coupe with a lightweight active carbon fibre aero pack. The new trim will also feature certain design tweaks in the form of bigger air ducts, revised roof-mounted spoiler and a new diffuser with dual exhausts positioned at its centre.

The new range-topping variant of the Porsche Cayenne Coupe will also get a new name, which will be announced at the time of unveiling. It will be sold alongside the standard trims and will take on the likes of the Lamborghini Urus and the Bentley Bentayga V8.
