Production spec Fiat Avventura to get 90 HP 1.3 MJD engine?

An image of the production version of the Fiat Avventura has surfaced on the internet. The image shows the rear of the car with no camouflage or cladding whatsoever. More importantly, it reveals a crucial detail of the car.

On the tailgate, to the right of the spare wheel, is a badge which reads 90 HP. This indicates that the Avventura will be powered by Fiat's 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, MultiJet diesel engine, which puts out 92 bhp and 209 Nm of torque. Spy pictures posted earlier had revealed that the car is likely to get a 5-speed gearbox.

Moving down to the bumper, we can see that the production version will get only one exhaust pipe instead of two like the Avventura concept that was displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo, held earlier this year.

While the Avventura looks largely like the Punto EVO on which it is based, there are many cosmetic differences between the two cars. The front of the car features a different bumper and grille. On the sides there is a black plastic cladding, while at the rear we see the spare tyre mounted on the hatch and a different bumper. Other additions include roof rails and alloy wheels of a different style.

The Avventura's interiors sport a similar black and beige theme to the recently launched Punto EVO and the Linea facelift. The overall design is also similar with the same steering wheel, instrument cluster and audio system. However, the storage space above the central air-conditioner vents has been left out. In its place come gauges - compass, roll-and-tilt meter and inclinometer.

The Fiat Avventura is expected to be launched in October.
