Renault Kwid facelift spotted undisguised

The Renault Kwid facelift has been revealed through a set of spy images that have just surfaced online. The updated model gets styling tweaks and added features.

According to the spy images, the dual-tone front bumper and circular fog lamps have been carried over unchanged, however the front now features a chrome grille. The ORVM housings appear to be larger and are finished in a contrasting colour, similar to the wheel caps. A rear view camera has been integrated into the Renault logo placed on the tail gate.

Minor changes can be seen on the interior as well. The car has chrome door handles and an additional 12V socket for the rear seat passengers. Like the current model, the piano black centre console houses a touchscreen infotainment system.

Renault is expected to offer the updated Kwid with the same set of petrol engines as the outgoing model. These include an 800 cc, 3-cylinder unit which develops 53 BHP @ 5,678 rpm and 72 Nm of torque @ 4,386 rpm and a 999 cc, 3-cylinder unit that makes 67 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm @ 4,250 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission is likely to be offered as standard, while the 1.0-litre version could get an optional 5-speed AMT.
