Renault reveals Kwid-based City K-ZE electric car

Renault has revealed the City K-ZE - an electric vehicle (EV) based on the Kwid. 

The Renault City K-ZE has a wheelbase of 2,423 mm and ground clearance of 150 mm. It offers 300 litres of luggage space. In terms of styling, the City K-ZE uses the Kwid's bodyshell but has a redesigned front end. It comes with a split headlamp setup, LED daytime running lights and a new grille with U-shaped inserts. 

At the rear, the car has the same tail lamp clusters as the Kwid and a dual-tone bumper with reflectors on either side and a silver skid plate with a rear fog lamp. 

On the inside, the City K-ZE comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has features such as online navigation and real time monitoring for EV features, online entertainment, 4G WiFi and voice recognition. The car has black interiors with blue trim, a 3-spoke steering wheel and a twin-pod instrument cluster. Features like tyre pressure monitoring and rear view camera are also available.

The City K-ZE has multiple charging modes and is compatible with 220V domestic plugs as wells as public infrastructures. According to Renault, the battery can be recharged to 80% in 50 minutes using fast charging. With slow charging, it takes 4 hours to charge the battery to 100%.
