Royal Enfield trademarks 'Interceptor Bear 650' name

The upcoming 650cc scrambler could use the Interceptor Bear 650 name.

Royal Enfield has filed a trademark application for the 'Interceptor Bear 650' nametag.

Spy images have shown that Royal Enfield is working on multiple new models based on the 650cc platform. These include a 650cc scrambler, which could use the Interceptor Bear 650 name.

The upcoming scrambler model is expected to share its underpinnings with the Interceptor INT 650. Spy images suggest that the bike will feature upside-down fork suspension, a round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a flat seat with a short tail section. It is also likely to get a single exhaust, unlike the Interceptor. The test bike has also been seen sporting wirespoke wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres.

The upcoming scrambler will be powered by the 648cc, parallel-twin engine. This engine develops 46.4 BHP @ 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm @ 5,650 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
