Rumour: Force Gurkha Xtreme 2.2 priced at Rs. 12.99 lakh

According to a media report, Force Motors has launched the updated Gurkha Xtreme 2.2 priced at Rs. 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The exterior of the new Force Gurkha Xtreme looks similar to the previous version. However, it comes with an updated centre console, new gear lever and transfer case among other updates.

While aesthetic updates are minimal, under the skin, Force Motors has reportedly made a number of changes. It is now powered by a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that was offered on the Force One SUV. It puts out 138 BHP and 321 Nm of torque and is mated to a Mercedes-sourced 5-speed manual transmission with a low-range transfer case. It also gets locking differentials at the front and rear.

The new Gurkha Xtreme features multi-link suspension setup at both ends with 40 mm wider front track. The updated suspension has also had an effect on the approach (44-degrees), departure (35-degrees) and ramp breakover (29-degrees) angles. The ground clearance is 205 mm and it can wade through 550 mm of water.

The Force Gurkha Xtreme 2.2 competes with the Mahindra Thar in the Indian market.
