Rumour: Hyundai Creta facelift coming up in May

Hyundai is likely to launch the Creta facelift around last week of May 2018, while production is set to commence in the third week of the next month.

Earlier this month, the Creta facelift was spotted completely undisguised during a TV commercial shoot. The compact SUV gets an updated front grille and new headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. The front bumper has silver trim along the air dam and fog lamp pods on either side.

Like the current generation Creta, the new model is also expected to be offered with dual-tone bodywork and alloy wheels. Spy images suggest that a sunroof might also be offered as an option. On the inside, the Creta facelift is expected to get a similar dashboard as the current model, however it might feature an updated infotainment system.

At present, Hyundai offers one petrol and two diesel engine options on the Creta. The same engines are likely to be carried over on to the facelift version. These include a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol unit with 123 BHP and 151 Nm, 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder diesel with 89 BHP and a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder diesel with 126 BHP of peak output. Transmission options might include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.
