According to a media report, Maruti is likely to launch the Baleno facelift in January 2019.

While it is unclear as to what changes will be made to the Baleno, reports suggest that the hatchback could get revised front and rear bumpers along with other minor updates. Mid variants of the new car are expected to be offered with more standard equipment.

Engine options are expected to be carried over unchanged. These include a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol unit that puts out 83 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm and a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel that makes 74 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm @ 2,000 rpm. Both engines come with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, while the petrol version gets an optional continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The Baleno RS is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 101 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 150 Nm of peak torque @ 1,700-4,500 rpm and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
