Rumour: Next-gen Maruti Alto to be launched on August 18

The new Alto K10 is expected to be offered with the 1.0-litre DualJet from the S-Presso.

According to a media report, Maruti Suzuki is likely to launch the next-generation Alto in the Indian market on August 18, 2022.

The third generation Alto is expected to be based on the Heartect platform, which also underpins the Celerio and WagonR.

The new Alto looks quite similar to the outgoing model. Leaked images have already revealed the car’s rear end, which features square-ish tail lamps and a new bumper. The car also gets flap-type door handles and black ORVMs. The Alto is also expected to get a redesigned front end with a large radiator grille.

The new Alto is likely to be offered with two engine options. These include the existing 796cc petrol unit that makes 47 BHP and 69 Nm and the 1.0-litre DualJet from the S-Presso. The latter makes 67 BHP and 89 Nm.
